Neal Receives $1.1 Million Grant

Congratulations to education professor Rebecca Neal for receiving 1.1 million dollars in funding to support students who are Indigenous or People of Color pursuing teacher licensure. This award allows the Center of Excellence in Urban Teaching to provide scholarships to every graduate and undergraduate student who is pursuing teacher licensure and identifies as Indigenous or Person of Color. Funds are made possible through the state of Minnesota in an effort to increase the number of BIPOC teachers in the state. This is the first time in the history of the Hamline School of Education and Leadership that scholarship can be awarded to every eligible BIPOC student who is planning on becoming a teacher.
