Sarah Greenman
Sarah J. Greenman is an Associate Professor of criminology and criminal justice in Hamline鈥檚 Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Science. Professor Greenman specializes in victimization, sanctioning, and deterrence. Her current research focuses on Pyramid Scheme Victimization, Intimate Partner Violence, and High Impact Pedagogy. Before graduate school, Professor Greenman worked as a domestic violence victim鈥檚 advocate for felony and misdemeanor crimes. Professor Greenman received her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Psychology from Carleton College and her Master鈥檚 and PhD from the University of Maryland Criminology and Criminal Justice Program.
Students taking a course with Professor Greenman will focus on current practices, policy implications, and challenges and controversies in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Students will learn how to interpret and communicate research findings within the field of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Professor Greenman鈥檚 teaching style is high impact. Students in her classes will learn the building blocks to discuss controversial issues, apply academic learning to non-academic settings, and collaborate with other students to develop solutions to the challenges facing the criminology and criminal justice field.
I hope students will leave Hamline with a desire to identify and creatively solve issues within the field of Criminology and Criminal Justice. The criminal justice system has an outsized impact on society and students will leave Hamline with the knowledge and tools to work on making lasting positive change.
