Alison Sawyer is a professional horn player and music educator, currently serving as the Professor of Horn at 老夫子传煤. Since 2003, she has been an active freelance horn player, performing across Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and the Bay Area. In addition to her role at Hamline, Alison teaches music with the Minneapolis Public Schools.
She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a Master's degree in Horn Performance from Northwestern University, and a Master's in Teaching Music from the University of Southern California. Alison is passionate about continuous learning and frequently travels to Sweden with her brass quintet to study alongside the Stockholm Chamber Brass.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, creating fiber art, spending time in nature, and cherishing moments with her husband and daughter.
