StepUP! Bystander Training

Description

StepUP! is Hamline's bystander program for students, staff, and faculty to build intervention and de-escalation skills for social conflict and violence. It provides opportunities to think inclusively in how we respond to concerns and interrupt unwelcome actions in our community. This workshop is an in-person single session recommended for all student leaders.

StepUP! teaches attendees to evaluate a situation and assess their capacity to determine the best and safest approach to bystander intervention. It isn't just for interrupting physical violence that you see on campus, but also for intervening in heated conversations, reacting to disclosures of assault from peers, and identifying discrimination in your community.

Want to learn more about being a bystander and build confidence in interrupting conflict? Learn some tools and skills to help step up more regularly with StepUP!
